During the reverse fixture at The Portway in September the teams produced nine goals but this time round a repeat performance rarely seemed likely.

Not for the first time it was a less than confident start by Andover and they duly conceded an early goal when Matt Rowland’s twenty yard strike sailed into the top corner of David Tasker’s net. The goal did at least light the Andover fuse and a neat movement between Owen Trapnell and Jordan Ragguette ended with a Brendon Holmes effort that went over the bar.Shaquelle Gwengwe had a couple of half chances before he was brought down in the area just before the half hour mark. There was little argument over the decision to award the spot kick which Shaquille Gwengwe duly converted. Shortly after Gwengwe had a sharp chance but appeared to lose his footing at the vital moment.

In the second half there were two or three opportunity's for Andover but in the main Petersfield were the dominant force.For much of the time they kept Andover in their own half for long periods.Four good efforts failed to find the back of the Andover net before Rowland was red carded for a second bookable offence. Andover were unable to take advantage of the extra man and if anything the difference only helped Petersfield to raise their game.Will Webb who had a good effort ruled out for offside, an excellent Tasker save,a last minute Trapnell tackle and several other Petersfield unconverted chances all suggested that Andover could salvage at least a point from the game. However in the first minute of added time Jordon Geddes found space inside the crowded Andover area and hammer in the winner.
