A crowd of over two hundred attended this Charity Match in aid of 'Dementia UK' and they witnessed a hard fought and at times a feisty encounter. In the early stages Andover Town set the pace and went ahead in the eighth minute as Craig Blakeman hit a thirty yard screamer into the net. Both goalkeepers were kept busy and just before the half hour mark Andover New Street were awarded a penalty. Zach Neve’s spot kick was high but straight and Lloyd Thomas made the save at the expense of a corner.

Ten minutes after the restart Andover New Street deservedly equalised. Former Andover Town player Ollie Yates made inroads into the Andover Town defence and as the ball came across Casson Spencer got the final touch. Shortly after Zach Glasspool had a goal ruled out before tempers became a little frayed and the referee spent copious amounts of time lecturing players on from both sides. The match outcome was finally decided with Andover Town scoring twice in the final fifteen minutes. First a deep cross from the left found an unmarked Mark Gosney to score from close range. Five minutes from time the home goalkeeper could only parry Liam Gilbert’s fierce effort, the rebound came back to Reece Rusher who fired home from the edge of the area.
