○Hamworthy United1–1Andover Town

With most Wessex games falling foul of the weather Hamworthy's 3G pitch was not affected by the weather for Andover Towns’ visit to the County Ground, the 3G pitch looked very good although it seemed strange to have so many portable goals littering the sides of the pitch and blue pitch markings for the junior matches.

With the game under way, an early chance for Andover fell to Reece Rusher whose shot was pushed around the post by the hosts keeper Tommy Scott for a corner. With half an hour gone Andover had a strong penalty appeal turned down after a clear foul on Rusher. However, Andover went ahead on 36 minutes when Reece Rusher beat the offside trap and with the keeper advancing towards him he coolly slid the ball into the corner of the net. Rusher also had several shots in the first half and was a constant threat to the home defence. As the half drew to a close into injury time Andover keeper Lloyd Thomas rushed out of his goal to close down smith but Smith reached the ball first and his lob found the corner of the net. So, at half time the teams were level at 1-1

Hamworthy started the second half strongly with Steve Smith heading just over then when in a good position in the penalty area Connor Phillips blazed his shot well wide of the goal, Eddie Hodge also had a shot well wide of the target. Andover came more into the game and forced several corners but could not find a way past the Hamworthy defence. On 74 minutes Zanin was brought down in the penalty area by Ross Gregory and the referee pointed to the spot. Gregory was booked before Smiths weak penalty was easily saved by Lloyd Thomas. Late on in the game saw Hamworthy pressing hard for the winner. However, at the other end, Plummer was put through but the ball just eluded him and the score remained even. With the final whistle imminent, the United keeper out of his goal Reece Rusher tried a shot from wide out on the left that narrowly went wide.

So, the game ended 1-1. Curiously though Hamworthy did not make a single substitution. This was a good game played in a very good spirit but still managed to produce a total of 6 yellow cards.
