In an otherwise uninspiring game all the drama came in the final few minutes as Zach Glasspool scored twice as Andover extended their unbeaten run to six games. Glasspool could also have completed a unique hat trick but his penalty, virtually the last kick of the game was saved by the Fawley goalkeeper. The Andover starting line-up showed one change from the side that drew with Horndean in midweek. Jarid Hixon signed from Fareham in mid-week came in for his debut replacing Jamie Bray.

Fawley came into the game with the league’s worst defensive record and consequently Andover found the goal area so packed with blue shirts that it resembled Waterloo Station at rush hour. When The Oilers were able to break out into the Andover half the visiting defence gave little away and during the first half Hixon was not required to deal with anything on target. The nearest Andover came to scoring was Dockree’s header from a corner that was cleared off the line, and a good effort from Shayne Lock that was just six inches the wrong side of the post.

A minute into the second period Connor Cocklin’s header from another corner was just off target before the game started to open out and Andover found more space whilst the home side started to more of a threat.Hixon was now more involved in the game but apart from one occasion was never seriously troubled. However, as time ebbed away a draw looked the likely result until Andover broke the deadlock with four minutes of normal time remaining. On as a substitute Javier Santafe fed an inch perfect pass to Zach Glasspool, just inside the area, who shrugged off two challenges before firing low into the net. Three minutes later Charlie Gunson despite having an opening for himself passed to the unmarked Zach Glasspool who beat the despairing goalkeeper from fifteen yards. Tempers then became a little frayed and there was a short bout of handbags before Andover were awarded a penalty with five minutes of added time gone. Gunson was the victim of a accidental kick to the head. Glasspool took the spot kick but the keeper guessed correctly and saved well.
