Any expectation that Andover Town would complete their league campaign with their fifth successive victory at St Georges Park quickly failed to materialise. For long periods,in what otherwise was a poor game, Newport ran the show and it was not until the final thirty minutes or so that Andover looked likely to spring a late revival but hope failed to spring eternal.

Andover Town 5–0 Whitchurch United

A Shaquille Gwengwe hat trick coupled with two other quality goals ensured Andover Town’s best result of the season against their local rivals. Only a penalty separated the teams at half time but early in the second period Whitchurch were reduced to ten men and Andover took full advantage and in the process kept their first clean sheet of the season.
