Promoted Moneyfields were the visitors to the Portway in front of the highest attendance at the Portway this season a crowd of 144. Andover Town made a number of changes from the side that started the match against Cowes Sports and Connor Cocklin was making his 50th appearance for the club.

Moneyfields had a number of attempts in the first half but Lloyd Thomas pulled off a string of good saves to deny them especially from Gary Austiin who had four attempts on goal. Andover were restricted in the first half to attempts by Zach Glasspool who fired over and then a shot from the left-hand side by Liam Gilbert hit the crossbar with the Mowthorpe beaten.

Andover had a couple of chances from free kicks first, Liam Gilbert’s attempt was well held by Steve Mowthorpe then Reece Rusher saw his attempt tipped over by Mowthorpe. Lloyd Thomas then made a couple of good saves and tipped a shot over the cross bar has Moneyfields were pressing hard for the opening goal. Then In the 69th minute Moneyfields almost took the lead when Steve Hutchings hit the crossbar. However, in the 86th Minute the deadlock was broken when ‘Man of the Match’ Thomas was finally beaten when the Moneyfields skipper Steve Hutchings volleyed the ball into the top corner. A good battling performance by Andover Town but they slip down to 15h Place in the league table. If Moneyfields win their last Game of the Season at home to Newport (IoW) they will be crowned champions (Subject to a possible 3-point deduction)
